7th Annual ECUA 2-Man “Pre-Season” Umpire Clinic
March 12th & 13th 2010

Clinic Information: The ECUA Clinic offers hands-on teaching and evaluations from some of the top college baseball umpires and instructors in the Northeast Region. Camp Director, Frank Zitaglio of The ECUA has put together an outstanding group of instructors for the camp..

Clinic Instructors: The talented staff will include many of the regions top Division 1 Conference Umpires, Regional Umpires and College World Series Umpires.

Clinic Location: The ECUA Clinic will be using the Baseball Heaven Complex in Yaphank, NY www.baseballheavenli.com. This location will be used for all field drills and simulated game evaluations. The Baseball Heaven Complex is 7 miles from the “The Springhill Suites Hotel in Yaphank, NY.”, which is the host hotel for all ECUA clinics & events.

 

Clinic Itinerary:

  • The most experienced staff in the Northeast Region
  • Videotaped Cage Work (Umpires are required to have plate gear & uniform)
  • Field Drills covering the 2-man umpiring system (base uniform required)
  • All students will umpire & be evaluated during our simulated baseball games.

Clinic Schedule:

OPTION 1 (Friday Only Session)
  • Friday March 12th, 2010 (Plate Mechanics)
  • Extensive Videotaped Cage Work (Umpires are required to have plate gear & uniform)
  • 5:00 – 5:45 PM Registration (at indoor training facility)
  • 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Plate Mechanics Instruction & Evaluations

    OPTION 2 (Friday & Saturday Session)

  • Friday March 12th, 2010 (Plate Mechanics)
  • Extensive Videotaped Cage Work (Umpires are required to have plate gear & uniform)
  • 5:00 – 5:45 PM Registration (at indoor training facility)
  • 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Plate Mechanics Instruction & Evaluations

    • Saturday March 13th, 2010 (Field work/drills)

    • Field Drills covering the 2-man umpiring system (base uniform required)
    • All students will umpire & be evaluated during our simulated baseball games
    • 8:15 – 8:45 Am check-in
    • 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM Field drills & simulated game evaluations
    • Lunch Included

    Clinic Cost:

    Option 1 Friday Session Only: $60.00 per umpire

    Option 2 Out of Town Students: Total cost is $175.00, which includes the 2-day clinic, a double occupancy hotel room and a buffet breakfast. Students will be staying at The The Springhill Suites Hotel in Yaphank, NY. in Holtsville, NY. The hotel is a full service hotel with a sports bar & restaurant. AN ECUA representative will contact you and finalize the hotel details, once your deposit is received. .

    Option 2 Commuter Students: Total cost for the 2-day clinic is $100.00

    Option 2 Clinic Deposit:
    A $75.00 non-refundable deposit is required, for out of town students
    A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required, for commuter students
    Balance Due: All remaining balances will be due at the March 12th, registration.
