2012 ECUA Umpire Class Registration Now Available

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for showing interest in the East Coast Umpires Association, Long Island’s largest baseball umpire assigning group. By choosing the ECUA Training Course, not only will you receive the most complete umpire training in the Northeast Region - by some of the most experienced and successful umpires in the Region - but you will also embark on new friendships and become part of the continuously growing ECUA family. Here at ECUA we strive for professionalism on and off of the field, every time we enter a ballpark.

Course Information: The ECUA Umpire Training Course begins on January 10^th, 2012. Our classes have sold out for 7 years in a row, so act early. We offer twelve (12) weeknight class sessions, 4 indoor (weeknight) mechanic sessions, scrimmage games and a field clinic, for all those involved with our course. After completion of our training course, all umpires will be eligible to start umpiring games in the spring of 2012.

Clinic Instructors: The talented staff includes many of the regions top Division 1 Conference Umpires, Regional Umpires and College World Series Umpires.

Class Location: Our classroom sessions are held at The Islandia Marriott in Islandia, NY (exit 58 LIE). All training dates will be provided once deposit is received. Our first class will begin January 10^th, 2012

Here is what’s included in your training package:

• Training Materials: Package includes a MLB rulebook, a NFHS Rulebook, a Little League Rulebook, an ECUA 2-man Mechanic Umpire Manual, a video of all of your plate mechanic work and an indicator and plate brush.
• Classroom Training: Includes 12 classroom sessions. Class discussion will include the rules of Baseball, field mechanics/field responsibilities, plate mechanics/responsibilities and handling situations. All class materials are supplied with registration.
• On Field Training: This training will include on field base and plate mechanic/positioning drills. (This training will reinforce instruction learned in the classroom and is in addition to the classroom training)
• Plate Umpire Training: This training will include plate mechanics/positioning drills. (This training will reinforce instruction learned in the classroom and is in addition to the classroom training). All sessions of your plate mechanic training are videotaped as well.
