In conjunction with Lasorda Legacy Park, we are excited to bring you our 2026 ECUA Spring Training Course.

This course is FREE to all applicants

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for showing interest in becoming a member of East Coast Umpires Association. By choosing the ECUA Training Course, not only will you receive the most complete umpire training on Long Island - by some of the most experienced and successful umpires in the Region - but you will also embark on new friendships and become part of the continuously growing ECUA family. At ECUA we strive for professionalism on and off of the field.

Course Information:  Our classes continue to sell out, so act early. This course will include 5 virtual classroom sessions along with field training and mechanics instruction for all participants. After completing the training course, umpires will be eligible to begin umpiring games June 29, 2026

Virtual Class Location: All classes will be held weeknights online the following dates: 5/28, 6/2, 6/4, 6/9 & 6/11

Indoor/Outdoor Instruction: All field instruction will be held at The Lasorda Legacy Complex (formerly Baseball Heaven) in Yaphank, NY.

 

Here is what’s included in your training package:

  • Virtual Classroom Training:  Virtual Class discussion will include the rules of Baseball, field mechanics/field responsibilities, plate mechanics/responsibilities and handling situations. All class materials are supplied with registration.
  • On Field Training: This training will include on field base and plate mechanic/positioning drills. (This training will reinforce instruction learned in the classroom and is in addition to the classroom training.
  • Plate Umpire Training: This training will include plate mechanics/positioning drills. (This training will reinforce instruction learned in the classroom and is in addition to the classroom training).
